It’s #WalkToWorkDay!
Walking your dog as much as possible will provide them with mental and physical stimulation, chances for socialisation, and opportunities for behavioural training that they need. Just like your two-legged child, your dog wants to get to know the outside world. If he or she is confined to the house for long period of times, you can expect either your favourite pair of shoes to be chewed or your house is in complete disarray. In order to prevent the, “I’m sorry eyes and kisses”, your dog is dependent on you to take them out to explore the world’s sights, smells and sounds.
1. Improved cardiovascular health.
2. Lowers your blood pressure.
3. Builds up your muscles and bones.
4. REDUCES stress (probably the most important one of all)
So how often should I walk my dog?
A dog in good general shape can enjoy a 15 to 30 minute walk daily. Most breeds may need routine walks several times per day. Moreover, pups who are in excellent health can enjoy long walks of up to two or more hours.
So, the only question you should be asking yourself (and your bff)…”Who is ready for walkies?”
